TMJ Problems

Can include facial pain, headaches, grinding or clenching of teeth, clicking, popping, grating sounds in front of your ears, or limited opening. These can all be symptoms that can be categorized as a TMD (temporomandibular disorders). I can help sort out which type of TMD is present AND whether or not you are dealing with a damaged or undamaged TMJ (temporomandibular joint) before deciding which treatment option is best. Damaged joints can also be diagnosed in young patients. This is especially important as a damaged joint can lead to progressive bite alignment problems and changes in facial appearance.

Splint Therapy

One the conservative treatment options for grinding/clenching or for someone with a damaged TMJ.

Bite Alignment Problems

After a thorough study of casts of your teeth (study models) mounted on an instrument called an articulator (which can duplicate jaw movements), selected cases will benefit from a bite adjustment where we precisely and selectively reshape the biting surfaces of teeth to allow them to fit together in a way that forms a harmonious relationship with a fully seated, physiologic jaw joint position.

Sleep Disorders

Certain appliances can be made to help with symptoms of snoring or sleep apnea.
