This is the cornerstone to successful long term dental health. For our adult patients, this visit begins with a discussion of your goals and concerns prior to seating you in the dental chair. We like to understand your needs and desires as we formulate a plan to get your mouth optimally healthy. “Signs precede Symptoms”-in many cases, we have the ability to identify causes of breakdown in your mouth before you have symptoms. This provides us an opportunity to treat problems in a more conservative and cost effective manner. Included in a comprehensive exam is the evaluation of your teeth, gums, jaw joints (TMJs), bite (occlusion), as well as exploring any cosmetic/esthetic options. Other records including xrays, photographs and diagnostic models of your teeth will be suggested as needed. We will discuss treatment options that are best for your long term dental health. We will help you understand which needs are urgent, which can be phased over time and will also discuss any optional services-such as teeth whitening or other appearance related changes to your smile.
